We’re excited that you’re considering joining our St. Michael School athletic coaching team. While the process to become a coach includes a few important steps and requirements, the reward—making a positive impact on our student-athletes—is well worth it. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
Steps to Coaching
Follow these steps if you are interested coaching for St. Michael's Athletics

STEP 1
Contact Athletic Director
Contact Eric Ortopan, athletic director for St. Michaels through email with your interest.

STEP 2
Complete the Following Course(s)
After communication with the athletic director, work to complete these one time courses.

Click the "First-time registrant" button on the left-hand side to create an account, or log in with your user ID and password if you previously created an account.

Select "Cleveland, OH (Diocese)" in the drop-down menu.

*NOTE: Assistant coaches who are 16 & 17 years old are not required to completed VIRTUS
The BMV or other place you go to may ask you for a code to have your fingerprints done. Please provide them with code 3319 39B1, School Employees – non teaching positions).
4. Complete Concussion Awareness Course

STEP 3
Complete CYO Coaching Programs
The first course of completion is a one time course, called the Coaches Development Program (CDP).
Upon completing this course and depending on the age and sport you are planning to coach, may require additional certification.
